Racer of the Month – Andrew Clark
12/19/2008
We are proud to announce that Andrew Clark has been selected as the Team Kendall Racer of the Month for October 2008. At just 16 years old, Clark has taken home nearly 60 victories in five classes and established himself as an up-and-coming racer worth watching. Clark's passion for racing, combined with his remarkable dedication to the sport, make him a worthy recipient of the Racer of the Month title.
"I have loved every aspect of racing for as long as I can remember and being a part of Team Kendall has really helped me to improve and establish myself among my peers at the track," said Clark. "I am so proud to have the opportunity to represent Kendall Motor Oil, an excellent racing product that is a critical component to the success of many racers."
Clark's career began at the young age of 7 as a breakout talent from the moment he got behind the wheel. In his first year racing, Clark was named the 2000 Tri-City Rookie of the Year in the Quarter Midget class. He quickly advanced to the Heavy Honda, followed by the Heavy Mod classes; earning multiple wins along with regional and state championship titles before entering his current Sportsman Class. With his sights set on eventually reaching the Craftsman Truck Series, Clark shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Clark's success is all the more impressive considering early setbacks. During the time that his family was funding his entire racing career on their own, Clark experienced serious problems with a motor oil that ultimately destroyed his engine. Clark's father, Dan Clark, was advised by an old racing friend to switch to Kendall Motor Oil. Heeding this advice, the family became such avid Kendall Motor Oil customers that their supplier, Lyden Oil Company in Lansing, Mich., pushed Clark to fill out a Team Kendall application in 2007.
"Andrew is a shining example of a driver who practices sportsmanship at all times," explains Pat Campbell, sales manager of Lyden Oil Company. "We are happy to support a young athlete who is making admirable strides within the sport of racing."
We are proud to have Clark on the Team Kendall roster and wish him continued success in his future racing endeavors.
